My journey to remain Fit to Survive is never-ending. There are threats in our communities that didn't exist in years past. Crime is on the rise in every major city across America and I refuse to become a victim of crime, a natural disaster, a mass casualty event, or an active shooter.
I am licensed to carry concealed and never leave home without my EDC Glock 19. I shoot regularly to keep that skillset as sharp as possible and recently added Jiu Jitsu at age 66! I’ve taken Stop the Bleed classes and carry a medkit in my car, one at home and one on my person every day. I carry multiple tourniquets everywhere I go.
After the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and watching the police officer’s response, I was disappointed and took notice of the number of obese officers on-scene, including the chief of the school district police department (I won’t even mention his name).
After becoming lazy and complacent myself most of the “pandemic,” I decided to start training again. I'm learning to become comfortable being uncomfortable, working when I don’t want to, and adopting the mantra; "Nobody Cares, Work Harder."
So, check out my Blog Page and I hope you'll join me on my journey and perhaps start your own journey to becoming Fit to Survive!
